The original building was constructed in 1925.  In September 1925 the Hunters Chlorine Hot Springs Club was formed with H. A. Hunter President, H. A. Utley Vice President, E. G. Favell Secretary Treasurer and Dr. H. G. Kelty Manager for the purpose of constructing an establishment that provided therapy, rest and recuperation. Shortly, thereafter, Dr. Kelty moved his practice here.

In 1926 a building was moved from the Hammeraly Canyon area and was added to the facility.  On September 12, 1929 a clinic was formed at the Hot Springs Club by doctors Kelty, Warren, Stiles, Hanson and Sult.  November 1, 1929 the building and equipment were sold to the hot springs clinic and managers for hot baths, medical treatments etc. managed by a Mr. Sheppard who established a restaurant. August 29, 1943 property sold under contract to private interests who further developed additional rooms and a lounge. Since then, it has operated as the Motel and Hot Springs.  Heating for the facilities is provided by a direct hook up to the geyser spring.  - Lake County Historical Society 1995

Lakeview, at 4800 feet above sea level, is the tallest town in Oregon.  Lake County is located in the high desert of south-central Oregon.  It is also known as the Oregon Outback, a land with ruggedness and a varied environment from high mountain forests and meadows, sagebrush covered deserts and hills, to natural wetlands and hot springs.
